What is a dual-tariff meter?

Most households in Latvia use the so-called single-tariff meters – these devices meter the overall electricity consumption regardless of the time of the day when the electricity is used.

Separate daytime and night time electricity metering requires a dual-tariff meter.

When is the dual-tariff metering more advantageous? 

Separate electricity metering for daytime and night time could be an advantage if:

• Your monthly consumption exceeds 200 kWh; 
• Most of your electricity use takes place during the night and weekends. 
• You use an electricity product with different electricity prices for day and night. 

Verify if you will benefit from the dual-tariff metering!

Before applying for meter replacement, please verify if your electricity bill would be lower if dual-tariff metering were to be used at your current consumption level and its distribution between daytime and night time.
