Recognize scammers and protect your personal data!

The State Police publish weekly updates on the latest fraud cases. Last week — from November 24 to 30 - 271 fraud incidents were reported. In 71 of these cases, residents lost money, while 197 attempts failed without financial loss, in three cases the amount of loss is still unknown. The total losses suffered by residents amount to at least €460,937. 

Statistics show that fraudsters most frequently pose as representatives of Elektrum, Latvenergo, Sadales tīkls, as well as the State Police, the State Revenue Service, or banks. The most common method is known as “vishing” — fraudulent phone calls aimed at tricking potential victims into revealing confidential information or transferring money.

Therefore, we would like to remind our customers about the things our customer service specialists will never do or request. Take a look at the image — these are the warning signs in a caller's behavior that can help you recognize a scammer!
