14 September 2023

Moller Baltic Import, the importer of Volkswagen vehicles in the Baltic states and Audi vehicles in Latvia and Lithuania, has signed a partnership agreement with Elektrum, power company that develops electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure Elektrum Drive in the Baltics. New agreement will allow more than 100 charging points in 28 locations of Volkswagen and Audi dealers across Baltics (except Audi in Estonia) to be available on "We charge""Audi Charging", car navigation systems and Elektrum Drive app. Charging points will be added gradually throughout 2023.

"We expect a significant increase in our electric vehicles sales in the upcoming years, and we aim to provide our customers with sustainable, affordable, and flexible charging solutions. Therefore, Moller Baltic Import chose Elektrum Drive as a partner for the operation of our dealer charging services and its future scalability. One of the main strengths of Elektrum Drive is that they are already scaling up in this business. It has a big charging network in Latvia, several stations in Estonia, and huge plans for both Estonia and Lithuania. This is important both for our current customers in the Baltics, as well as hundreds of thousands of Volkswagen and Audi electric vehicle owners throughout Europe who will also be able to use Elektrum Drive services," says Ilze Grase Kibilde, Managing Director of Møller Baltic Import.

Ansis Valdovskis, Head of the Electric Vehicle Charging Network in the Baltics at Latvenergo AS, adds that the company is continuing its expansion in the Baltics: "In the field of electromobility we work according to the dynamic market situation and demand, searching for and creating innovative forms of cooperation. The cooperation with Moller Baltic Import opens up new opportunities where we provide our experience and expertise as a charging service Elektrum Drive. The Elektrum Drive mobile app will allow all electric car users, to pay and charge at these charging stations, enabling them to travel safely, visit dealerships, plan routes and reach destinations across the Baltics with ease. We are pleased to have been trusted and happy to have a solid partner like Moller Baltic Import".

Before the partnership with Elektrum Drive, the 28 locations and more than a hundred charging points in all three Baltic countries within Moller Baltic Import`s Dealer Network were mainly used for the operations of the Dealership. The new partnership will result in the visibility of these chargers on the platforms We Charge and Audi Charging as well as on the Elektrum Drive mobile app. It will nearly double the number of charging points operated by Elektrum Drive. The integration of these chargers into the Elektrum Drive system, is planed to be complete by the end of 2023. It will also results in the visibility and the occupancy status of these new charging points on the navigation systems of Volkswagen and Audi electric vehicles.

We Charge and Audi Charging are a subscription service that Volkswagen or Audi customers can use to charge their electric vehicles across Europe at over 500 000 charge points, including Ionity’s ultra-fast EV charging network. These services are primarily aimed at private customers but are also available to business customers.
