Insurance Payment security
You do not have to worry about paying your electricity and gas bills when times get tough. Payment security insurance – this is financial assistance to help Elektrum customers and their family members cover electricity and gas bills in the event of serious health problems, serious accident or a lost job.
When can Payment security insurance be useful?
Unemployment – dismissal due to redundancies or elimination of a position due to reorganisation (the insurance takes effect 60 days after the policy start date).
Long-term sick leave - sick leave for more than 30 days in case of:
- an accident
- an unexpected illness
- care for a child after an accident or during illness - valid from 01.04.2025
Long-term incapacity for work insurance takes effect 30 days after the policy start date.

Frequently asked questions and answers about Payment security insurance
The insured person is at least 18 years old and not older than 65 years and is not self-employed (the insured person cannot be a person with a physical or mental disability requiring care or supervision).
EUR 50/month or EUR 100/month depending on the cover chosen by the customer.
6 or 12 months depending on the coverage chosen by the customer:

The period from the date the policy is taken out when the cover takes effect:
- Long-term sick leave – the insurance takes effect 30 days after the policy start date;
- Unemployment – the insurance takes effect 60 days after the policy start date.
Payment security, the insurance deductible period is 30 days.

- by calling ERGO Customer Support Service at 1887 (or +371 22585500, when calling from abroad).
