Distribution service tariffs

Distribution system services comprise the physical delivery of electricity to customers, including connection provision, electricity supply and meter servicing, as provided by Sadales tīkls AS. The fee for distribution system services is regulated by the state and is the same regardless of the electricity trader.

Kindly be informed that state support for distribution system services provided by Sadales tīkls AS to households is valid until 31.12.2025.

What makes up an electricity total fee?

The fee for electricity is made up of three parts:

  1. Distribution system services – provision of electricity connection, continuous electricity supply and meter servicing, performed by Sadales tīkls AS.
  2. Price of electricity – includes generation and trading expenses. This part varies depending on the chosen electricity trader.
  3. Value Added Tax (VAT), as determined by the state.

How can a user influence distribution costs?

The cost of the distribution service depends on the capacity of the site and the selected tariff. We encourage you to ensure:

  • you have selected the optimal site capacity (number of phases and current intensity);
  • you have selected the most appropriate tariff – Basic or Special. The Basic tariff is designed for sites with regular electricity consumption.

The Special tariff is more advantageous for sites with low consumption (such as garages, summer houses during the winter period, etc.).

Basic or Special tariff? Choose the most suitable option!

As of 01.07.2023, two Distribution system tariffs are available:

  • Basic tariff – suitable for regular daily consumption.
  • Special tariff – suitable for very low or seasonal consumption (for example, summer houses, garages or companies with seasonal operations).

To find out which tariff is more advantageous for you, use the Sadales tīkls AS tariff calculator or change the tariff in the portal e-st.lv.

Optimal load – optimal costs

The fee for connection provision must be paid even if electricity is not consumed. Even if the meter is temporarily disconnected, electricity is still supplied to your site; therefore, the fee for connection provision remains in force in this case as well.

Ensure that the load connected to your site is optimal and whether it can be reduced – this may help you save.

Use the Sadales tīkls AS load calculator to determine the most suitable type of connection for your site and avoid overpayment. Before making any changes, we recommend you to consult with a certified electrical specialist or companies providing such services!

Answers to frequently asked questions

You can make load changes free of charge by submitting a request in the Sadales tīkls AS portal.

However, before making a decision regarding load changes, we recommend you to consult with certified electrical specialists or companies that provide such services.

If you need assistance in assessing the connection capacity required for your property, we invite you to use the load calculation calculator. This is an informative tool developed by Sadales tīkls AS, which helps to determine the approximate load required for the use of the electrical appliances specified. By determining the most suitable type of connection for your household, you can find out whether you are overpaying for inefficiently used load.

By entering into the calculator your household’s area, number of phases and the electrical appliances used, you can calculate the load required for the simultaneous use of the specified appliances.

Although your meter is temporarily disconnected, electricity is still supplied to your property; therefore, the fee for ensuring the connection remains applicable in this case as well.

The fee shall be calculated proportionally to the number of days that have passed since the conclusion of the contract.

Yes, the fee is applied for each Sadales tīkls AS connection point.
