Offers of the traders should be studied carefully – especially when promises are made about lower prices, considerable savings and the transparency of the offer is stressed out. To make sure that the offer you received is indeed profitable, convenient and does not contain any surprises, you should evaluate the provisions of the offer and the contract.

What should you pay attention to in the electricity contract?

	Comparison of electricity prices	The first and foremost thing to pay attention to is the correct comparison of prices. 	Change of contractual provisions	It is important to make sure that the changes in the contract provisions may only be made after a bilateral agreement with you as a client, not unilaterally.
	Guaranteed price period	Check if there is a specific guaranteed price term in the contractual provisions – there are traders, who keep the right to change the price unlimited number of times. Elektrum Ekonomiskais and Elektrum Izdevīgais product provisions allow a price change no more than 2 times within the calendar year.
	Exchange product price	Choosing the exchange price product, please note that the trader can only promise a specific payment fee for the trade service, because the price of electricity will vary each month. 	Electricity price components	Make sure that the trader has shown all the electricity price components separately, including distribution and transmission service fee and VAT. It is not possible to sum them up to one amount (as a price for 1 kWh), as the price depends on your monthly consumption. 	Type of connection included in the price	Check if the price has been calculated according to the type of connection of your property – the distribution and transmission system service fee depends on it. Often the price offer is calculated for a one-phase connection, which has the lowest costs. When you sign in (authorisation), you can precisely calculate the costs according to the type of connection in your property by using the product calculator and pressing the button “Payment Formation”.
	The larger the consumption, the better the price	Check if the trader will provide a lower price if your consumption increases. The products Elektrum Ekonomiskais and Elektrum Izdevīgais have been developed compliant to the consumption – for the product Elektrum Izdevīgais, the product monthly fee is part of the price, which allows us to provide a better price for larger consumption.
	Payment due date	Check if the payment due date is acceptable for you. Elektrum bills can be paid by the end of the month; the term for other traders, for example, is 12 days.
	Possibility to include several properties in the contract	For your convenience we offer to include several properties in the contract. If this feature is important to you, it is important to find out if other traders offer this possibility.
	The fee for product change prior to the deadline and contract termination fee	Find out if there is a fee for product change and termination of the contract, and how big it is. Most of the Elektrum electricity products do not have a fee for the contract termination or changing the product.
	Additional services	Compare if and what additional services are offered.
