Customers who choose to purchase both natural gas and electricity from us receive several benefits:
- One bill for electricity and natural gas, reducing the monthly hassle of paying bills;
- An equalised payment, which allows you to pay a single predetermined amount per month. The equalised payment may include electricity and natural gas together or each service separately;
- The option to purchase natural gas originating from Norway and the United States;
- The option to deal with questions regarding electricity and natural gas through a single trader;
- A convenient self-service portal and mobile app where you can monitor consumption and payments, as well as submit meter readings.
An overpayment to your previous natural gas trader is not an obstacle to switching to us.
You must notify your previous trader of the actual meter reading. We will use this same reading when starting your natural gas contract with us.
You can recover the overpaid amount by contacting your previous trader if you paid for consumption exceeding the meter reading at the start of the contract.
One cubic metre (1 m3) corresponds to approximately 10.54 kWh or, when rounded, approximately 11 kWh, if the calculation uses the actual gross calorific value of 10.538 kWh/m3.
The calorific value may vary across different zones in Latvia and under different conditions. Therefore, for billing purposes, the weighted average gross calorific value of natural gas in the relevant calorific value zone under standard conditions during the specified billing period (kWh/m3) is used.
The calculations are carried out by the natural gas distribution system operator AS GASO. Find out more about calorific value zones.
The Regulations Regarding the Trade of Natural Gas stipulate that, in offers, the volume of natural gas must be indicated using the unit of measurement for energy, that being kilowatt-hours (kWh). The energy value of one cubic metre (m3) may vary because gas density changes under different conditions.

The change of natural gas trader will take place automatically, and you will not need to contact your previous trader to arrange termination of the contract.
The contract will come into force on the 1st day of the following month if you submit the application for concluding the contract by the 15th day (inclusive) of the month. For applications submitted from the 16th onwards, the contract will come into force on the 1st day of the month after next.
No, you do not need to conclude a separate contract with the system operator. Information about the natural gas supply point and system services will be included in the natural gas contract that you conclude with us.
There will also be a single bill, which will include all costs.
We offer two payment methods for natural gas:
- a bill, if you wish to pay for the natural gas consumed in the previous month;
- an equalised payment, if you wish to pay the same predetermined amount each month, calculated according to your average natural gas consumption.
For billing based on actual consumption, we will prepare the bill according to the data available to AS GASO on the average consumption of your supply point. This bill will have to be paid. We urge you to submit the actual meter reading in the following month. We will then make adjustments and calculate the bill according to your consumption.
In the case of an equalised payment, the meter reading only needs to be submitted before the annual recalculation. You can submit the missing reading in the portal from the 27th day of the month until the first working day of the following month.
For your convenience, we offer the option to combine both natural gas and electricity in one contract with one payment method. This means that you will be able to pay for the services in a single payment. You can conclude a single contract for both services here.
You can also conclude a separate contract for each service. In such a case, please contact our customer service.
Please submit meter readings from the 27th until the 1st working day of the following month:
- On the Elektrum.lv portal;
- Using the Elektrum mobile app;
- By sending an SMS to 155: RAD space market number of the supply point space meter reading.
For the billed payment method, please submit the meter reading each month even if you have not consumed any natural gas.
For the equalised payment method, the meter reading must be submitted at least once a year before the annual recalculation.
No, we only offer natural gas. We do not currently offer propane gas in cylinders or tanks.
Yes, you can. To conclude the contract, you will need to confirm that you have the right to use the relevant property. You can conclude a contract for natural gas electronically by clicking here.
A contract termination fee may apply. This depends on the natural gas product you have chosen. You will find information about this in your contract, which you can view by clicking "Download contract” under My Contracts.
The contract termination fee decreases proportionally each quarter. For example, a contract termination fee of EUR 100 for a 12-month period decreases by EUR 25 each quarter.

The total price for one kilowatt-hour (kWh) of natural gas cannot be determined precisely, as the bill consists of several cost components. The natural gas price per 1 kWh makes up approximately one third of the total billed amount.
You can view the price per 1 kWh of your natural gas product under My Contracts. This price includes value added tax and excise duty, but does not include the costs of distribution and transmission services.

The short answer is: no, that’s a myth. A more detailed explanation relates to natural gas quality indicators. One such indicator is calorific value.
Calorific value, or heating value, indicates how much energy can be obtained from 1 m3 of natural gas. The higher the heating value, the more energy can be obtained from one cubic metre of natural gas.
This natural gas quality indicator is measured every day at more than 40 points throughout Latvia’s distribution system, and the information is published on the Conexus website. For business customer accounts, the current indicator for each month is used and applied to the number of cubic metres consumed. For household accounts, the standard value specified in regulations issued by the Cabinet of Ministers is used.
Measurements show that over the past 12 months, the actual calorific value has mostly exceeded the standard value set by the Cabinet of Ministers. That is a good indicator of natural gas quality.
As a natural product, natural gas quality indicators may vary. Its quality in the system is monitored continuously, and it is not possible to feed substandard gas into the transmission system. The quality of natural gas supplied to customers does not depend on the trader chosen, because the gas in the system is part of a single flow.
No. Concluding a contract with us will automatically terminate your contract with your previous natural gas trader.
You only need to contact your previous natural gas trader if you have made an overpayment and wish to recover it. The overpayment is not transferred to the new trader.

You can view the natural gas exchange price in the Elektrum app or ICE Report Center - Data (theice.com). Only the first indicator shown on the exchange website theice.com applies to the Elektrum natural gas product – TTF NATURAL GAS INDEX (TTFI). It is displayed at the top of the page.
At the top of the page, you can enter a specific period and view historical data. To view the current data, you do not need to specify a period.
The natural gas price for the following month is calculated on the penultimate working day of the current month. For example, on 30 March 2023, the natural gas price for April 2023 was calculated. The current natural gas price is highlighted in bold in the table. The price is stated in EUR/MWh excluding VAT.
You can obtain a statement of natural gas consumption for your supply point on the e-service portal My GASO.
After registering, open the section “Consumption”. Below the natural gas consumption graph, you will find the “Consumption Statement” menu.
The supply of last resort means that natural gas is provided to a user who does not have a valid natural gas trading contract. It ensures an uninterrupted natural gas supply for up to six months. During this period, the user must conclude a contract with a natural gas trader.

On new-type meters, the number is indicated below the barcode. It is usually located in the upper right-hand corner of the meter. On old-type meters, the number is most often engraved on the display glass next to the abbreviation “No.”
